Gila Crossing Families, In the Governor's Executive Order 13, Section 16, part (c), it states: (c) the school provides surveillance testing in coordination with and upon recommendations from the Tribal Health Department and COVID-l9 Task Force Gila Crossing will have surveillance testing tomorrow, Friday, April 1st. Students must have a negative test result in order to return to school on Monday, April 4th.The testing will take place ON CAMPUS during the school day(8 AM TO 11 AM). If your in-person student misses this surveillance testing on Friday, April 1st, you will need to secure a lab-analyzed test on your own and bring in negative results before the student is allowed to resume in-person learning. Lastly, students who started the week of March 28th will still need to test this Friday, April 1st. Thank you for working with us to meet this requirement of Executive Order 13.

Gila Crossing Families, This Thursday, March 17th is a half day for all students due to 3rd Quarter Parent/Teacher Conferences. Conferences will be done virtual. Please contact your child's teacher for more information. Thank you.

On Monday, March 14, we will be sending home the COVID-19 Testing Consent Form. This consent is similar to the same as the one you signed for Gila River Health. This consent is critical so that they can test students for Covid19 and share the results with both Gila River Health and us here at GCCS so your student can continue in-person learning. If your in-person student misses this surveillance testing on the 18th, you will need to secure a lab-analyzed test on your own and bring in negative results before the student is allowed to resume in-person learning. Lastly, students who test in order to start the week of March 14th after Spring Break will still need to test on the 18th. Gila Crossing Families, Next week March 7th-March 11th, there is no school due to Spring Break. Also, Thursday, March 17th is a half day for students due to Parent/Teacher Conferences. Gila Crossing Families, We were very appreciative today to have secured final approvals for our plans to open school to in-person learning beginning on Tuesday, February 22. These plans are in full compliance with the latest Executive Order from Governor Lewis, Gila River Community guidelines and Gila Crossing Board policies. There are two things that families will need to show for students in order to start in-person learning as early as February 22nd. 1) Students will need to have official documentation of full vaccination status, which can be brought or sent to the main office. Full vaccination status is achieved 14 days after your second shot. This documentation needs to be to the office, if you have not already done so, by 2pm this Friday, February 18th , in order to be eligible to attend on the 22nd. What this means, to determine when your child can start in-person, count forward 14 calendar days after their second dose. 2) Students must have a negative COVID-19 test result within 5 days of attending in-person school. We are working closely with Gila River Health to obtain these results, but it is critical that you sign a waiver to release this information to us here at GCCS. There will be a big testing event here tomorrow, Thursday, February 17th from 10am to 4pm, and waivers will be available to sign so that we can get this information. We will only be picking up students on the buses, and admitting students dropped off, who have satisfied both of these requirements, according to the lists for that morning. We will update these lists daily. However, if you feel that you are missing from the current lists, you can bring documentation to the front office.

Gila Crossing Families, Make note that this coming Monday, February 14, Valentine's Day, we will be on a half-day schedule to allow for our teachers and staff to take a trip out into the Community to celebrate our students and families. This will be a "touchless" event, with buses and cars driving by to wave, cheer, honk, etc., so please be ready on Monday for the celebration coming to your neighborhood.
